From this point down, the road cuts through the Pales-tinian neighborhoods of a-Sa-laymeh and Aret Jaber and was constructed by the Israeli forces in 2003, destroying the urban fabric of the area. The check-point used to be especially active on Saturdays, but since October 2015 controls are carried out throughout the whole week. Composed of a road gate restricting vehicle access from the Palestinian neighborhood, soldiers stand-ing next to the gate, and watch point located on the roof of the building on the other side of the street since the time of the Second Intifada.
